Dr. Anthony Alanis earned his MD from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and a BS in Mathematical Biology from the University of Houston. He is beginning his clinical training with a general surgery internship at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by residency in radiation oncology at UTMB Galveston.


His clinical focus is on optimizing treatment planning, and his research interests include medical education, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. He is the founding author of the RadOnc Student Scan newsletter, published in Applied Radiation Oncology and presented at national conferences including ASTRO and ROECSG.


Dr. Alanis has authored multiple peer-reviewed studies across oncology, surgery, and public health, with a continued commitment to integrating quantitative methods into patient care and education.
